Hook: TMC 100 #12-14

Thread: Reddish brown 8/0

 Tail: Brown microfibits/duncolored hackle fibers

Dubbing: Reddish brown or dark smoky gray

Hackle: Dark blue dun, brown hackle

Post: Dark dun Z-Lon

Comments: The Dark Hendrickson hatch occurs in southeast Minnesota in early to mid-April and runs until early May.  This is a hit or miss hatch for many anglers.  The hatch can sometimes come and go and be unnoticed or can be prolific as well.  Many patterns in this area use posts made of  Z-Lon (not pictured above). In this case it would be a dark dun Z-Lon.  Other popular patterns use dark gray CDC in place of the hackle and Z-Lon.
