Light Hendrickson Nymph

Hook: TMC 3769 #12-18

Thread: Rust brown 8/0

Tail: Wood duck fibers    Body: Pheasant tail fibers

Rib: Fine copper or gold wire ( gold is very popular)

Thorax: Brown to match the thread, olive, etc.

Wing Case: Black Krystal Flash

Comments: This is a versatile spring time nymph, particularly during a baetis hatch, Dark Hendrickson hatch (#12), etc.  Variations of this nymph include using white Krystal Flash in place of the black, as well as a variety of different dubbing colors depending upon the color of the nymphs you are trying to imitate.  Later in the spring, I have had success with #14-#16 Hendrickson nymphs during the Light Hendrickson hatch. I have used a pale watery yellow colored dubbing, similar to the dubbing I use when tying the dry fly version.
