Madame X (Centipede Style)

Hook: TMC200R #10-14

Thread: yellow 6/0 Uni-Thread

Tail: stacked deer hair

Underbody: Ice Dub Light Olive

Under Hackle: Grizzly (trimmed flush with the hook)

Overwing/head: stacked deer hair

Legs: black/tan medium centipede legs

Comments: This pattern is no different than the normal Madame X pattern except for materials.  Its underbody is Ice Dub, typically used for nymphs, but since the fly is so buoyant, it doesn't really matter.  The addition of centipede legs instead of normal whit rubber legs is nothing more than just a cosmetic change.

This fly is fantastic in the summer months when hoppers are active.  It's also buoyant enough to support a dropper (like the Black Wet Fly).
