Midge Emerger

Hook: TMC101 (#22-26)

Thread: Black

Tail: Tuft of dark muskrat or something similar

Abdomen: Black tying thread or small amount of black dubbing

Hackle: Black

Wing Case: White Z-lon

Comments: This is a killer midge pattern, especially during peak conditions when the weather is cooperative and the fish are beginning to rise on them.  It is relatively easy to tie as well.   If you're like me, the small hook size will drive you batty at times when trying to perfect the pattern.  A fishing tip is to use a small piece of strike indicator ten or so inches above the fly if you are having difficulty seeing the take.
