Midge Larvae

Hook: TMC2487 (16-18)

Tread: Color to match the body

Body: Larvae Lace

Head: Muskrat dubbing or a black dubbing

Comments: This is also a relatively simple fly to tie.  The picture shows it as being a red midge pattern, but the most common colors around southeast Minnesota would be in a root beer brown or brown color for the first part of the season and a black bodied midge later in the season.   Olive would also be another good color as well.
