Hook: Dai-Riki #125 Size 18 or TMC 2488 size 16-26
Thread:
Abdomen & Thorax: Black Uni 8/0
Rib: White Uni 8/0
Wing: Neutral CDC Puffs
Wingcase: Dun colored Antron
Legs: Dun colored Antron
Recipe:
1. Start thread and leave in front of hook point.
2. Tie in white Uni thread and wrap half way down hook bend.
3. Wrap black thread up to tie in point forming slightly built up abdomen
4. Spiral wrap white thread about 6-7x up to tie in point.
5. Tie off white thread and clip.
6. Cut a length of Antron, even the tips with your scissors and tie them in one eye length back from the hook eye. Wrap back over the Antron to just in front of the hook point, taking care to keep it on top of the shank.
7. Select two bushy CDC Puffs, stack them inside to outside and even the tips.
8. Tie the CDC feathers in with a pinch wrap at the base of the wingcase. Form a narrow band of thread over the butt ends of the CDC feathers to secure them.
9. Wrap the tying thread over the butt ends to form a smooth, slightly bulbous, thorax. Be sure to leave one eye length worth of bare space immediately behind the hook eye.
10. Pull the Antron forward through the center of the CDC, dividing the CDC into two bunches on either side of the hook, and splay it into a parachute hackle type wing.
11. Bind the Antron down at the index point with a couple tight wraps of thread.
12. Divide the remaining strands of Antron into two equal clumps.
13. Pull the clump of Antron on the near side of the hook back along the side of the shank under the wing and bind it in place with a couple wraps of thread.
14. Pull the Antron clump on the far side of the hook back in the same manner and tie it down as well.
15. Whip finish the thread in the index point and clip.
16. Pull the Antron legs down under the hook and trim them off even with the hook point forming legs below thorax.
